How long does the cleaning take?

Most cleanings take between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the level of tartar buildup and your pet's size. Cats and small dogs are usually done in about 30 minutes. Larger dogs or pets with heavy buildup may take closer to an hour. Your pet can go right back to their normal routine immediately after — no recovery time needed.

What if my pet is anxious or aggressive?

Our technicians are trained to work with pets of all temperaments. We use gentle handling techniques that earn your pet's trust — no restraints, no muzzles, no force. Most pets relax within the first few minutes. However, if your pet is extremely aggressive and poses a safety risk, we may recommend a veterinary dental cleaning under anesthesia instead. How often should my pet have their teeth cleaned?

It depends on their age and the presence of any inflammation. The technician performs an on-site assessment and provides all the information needed to keep your pet healthy; however, it is generally recommended to have a cleaning done every 6 months to 1 year.

What is the difference between a cleaning done by the Pet Tooth Fairy and one done by a veterinarian?

No hospitalization is required, no anesthesia is needed, we perform complete tartar removal (although we do not perform tooth extractions), we come to your home, it is much less stressful for the dog, and the procedure takes less than 1 hour.
